Welcome to My Website

I hope that you enjoy browsing through my gallery.  My images come from my life experiences.  To me, nature is the greatest art. I love watching the play of color and light in the ever changing sky and the deep reflections in water; the way in which the atmosphere intersects with the elements to create a mood or feeling. As an artist, I strive to create and magnify beauty. My art reflects my life's journey. Born and raised in Colorado, I have always been inspired by the wonder and beauty of nature. For decades, I lived at the edge of the national forest, in the high Rocky Mountains, where I was privileged to share a kinship with the native wildlife and the raw magnificence of Mother Nature at her best. My art is an attempt to re-create and share all of the glory that has inspired my life.

I grew up in a family of artists and began creating art at a very young age. Beginning with oils and oil pastels, I later discovered a passion for soft pastel. Throughout the years, I've worked in many different mediums, including watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, alcohol inks, resin-sculpting, silk-painting, fabric arts and photography. During the course of my career, I have played with blending different mediums to produce unique effects. In my collection of mixed-media floral paintings, I have used multiple layers of pastel, oil and watercolor, together with photography, to create delicate floral imagery. My images are merged and magnified to produce a profound impact that dances between realism and fantasy. As a photographer, I have learned to keep my camera always close; ready to capture the stunning, fleeting moments of nature's artistry and unpredictable, privileged encounters with wildlife.   I  also bring inspiration to my work from the years I spent living and traveling extensively throughout Europe.  In addition to living in Colorado, I have lived in Norway, Germany, California and New Mexico.  All of these places have inspired my art in different ways.  Most recently, before moving back to my beloved homeland in Colorado, I spent three years in the enchanted land of New Mexico. There, I discovered captivating deserts, canyons, mountains and mesas which gave me new inspiration for my art. My home there was located in a protected wildlife corridor where wild horses, deer, coyotes, foxes, bobcats and an occasional bear or mountain lion passed through freely.  In New Mexico, I found inspiration to express the unique beauty in a new artistic style; using palette knives and acrylic paints with vibrant colors and textures. It has been another step upon my journey...
