    I hope you enjoy browsing through the gallery.  My images come from my life experiences.  I grew up in Colorado in a family of artists and have always had a great love  and deep respect for the mountains and nature.  I  also bring inspiration to my work from the years I spent living in Norway and Germany and traveling extensively throughout Europe.  Much of my work reflects the images of  the quaint villages and gardens I visited there.  I have been heavily influenced by the great French Impressionists, although I term my style of painting, "Soft Impressionism" due to the fact that I leave no hard edges and my images appear soft and muted.  My earliest paintings were painted in Oil/Alkyd, however, since 1992, I have worked exclusively in Soft Pastel.  Over the years I have developed a technique that involves preparing the surface of my paper so that it creates a velvety texture on which I can move and blend my colors.  This gives the painting an ethereal quality and enables me to paint atmosphere as I feel it.  Today I live and have my studio in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  My work reflects my journey.
